Laboratory Services
Laboratory work is essential in diagnosing many types of health conditions in your pet. At Nokomis Pet Clinic, we have a complete in-house clinical laboratory that allows us to provide immediate laboratory results for your pet. We also work with an outside reference laboratory that can provide most results within 24 hours for all other types of tests. Laboratory work is important in maintaining your pet’s health because:
- Our pets can’t tell us what is wrong, but often their lab results can
- Problems may be identified through lab work, before they can be detected on physical examination
- Early detection and treatment of disease often allows for more appropriate and less expensive treatment options
- Regular blood testing in normal, healthy pets provides “baseline” laboratory values for your pet that may help identify early stages of disease
